To study the influencing factors of mode choice in urban short-distance travel, the principle of the structural equation model (SEM) and the influencing factors of mode choice were elaborated. Personal and family attributes, travel characteristics, traffic facilities supply, travel preferences, and travel purpose were selected as the influencing factors of mode choice. The questionnaire is based on revealed preference survey in this paper for data collection. Then the reliability and validity of data were analyzed by SPSS. χ2 / df, RMSEA, CFI, and NFI were adopted to evaluate the goodness of fit for SEM. Finally, traffic facilities supply, personal and family attributes, and travel purposes were found to be the major determinants of travel mode choice through the calculation of effects on travel modes in the SEM. The findings are of great significance for improving the short-distance travel structure of residents, guiding travelers to green traffic and alleviating traffic congestion.
