This paper describes the application of the two-moments method and Monte Carlo simulation for analyzing investment risk in port infrastructure development. Advantages and limitations of applying these methods analysis when project costs and revenues are function of random variables. Using the Port of Colombo development project in Sri Lanka as an example, the use of two methods for making decisions about investment option and exploratory.
