The method of transit signal priority optimization is presented by studying the interaction between far-side bus stops and intersection. Taking the isolated signalized control intersection with bus lane as a subject, this study analyzes the influence of the far-side bus stop on the characteristic parameters of traffic flow delay in the intersection, and then develops a transit signal priority optimization model. The model is built to consider the minimum total delay of passengers at intersection, and constraints including phase length and bus queue length are considered in this model. On the basis of that, we collect the traffic characteristic data with Qingliangmen Street and Jiangdong North Road, and calibrate the model parameters with the measured data. The simulation platform based on VISSIM software is built and the simulation results are verified.
