Based on the recent development of driving workload quantification technology, the history and current situation of driving load quantification were reviewed. The primary task of measurement of the existing driving load quantization methods, secondary task of measurement, subjective evaluation, and physiological measurement method are introduced and compared, and the defects of existing research methods are pointed out. Finally, the idea of driving load comprehensive evaluation and prospection the development trend of quantitative research on driving load were putted forward, which provide a reference for the development of driving load quantification.
