With the gradual deepening of motorization and aging, traffic conflicts between people and cars are more significant. This paper studies the psychological and behavioral characteristics of elderly people crossing the street. Three kinds of additional delays caused by aged people were proposed. Based on these delays, vehicle and pedestrian delay models at sections of uncontrolled facilities considering aged people influence were established. Then, using models and Vissim software we evaluate the influence of the different proportions of elderly pedestrians to the section traffic operation with an example. We found that a high proportion of the elderly (50%) crossing the street made a significant influence. Finally, this paper puts forward some pedestrian crossing design suggestions suitable for the aging and motorized traffic environment, to ensure the safety, comfort of the elderly people crossing the street, and efficiency of pedestrians and vehicles.
