The dispatching decision of wagon flows in railway hubs is a large-scale combinatorial optimization problem and has relatively high dynamic and effective characteristics needed to design efficient intelligent algorithm. Aiming at the key problem of organization on wagon flows in railway hubs, the model of dispatching decisions of transferring wagon flows at marshalling stations in railway hubs is built. As for the successful application of particle swarm optimization algorithm on combinatorial optimization problem, the improved PSO for solving the model of dispatching decision of transferring wagon flows is designed with the features of this model. Furthermore, an example is given to be verified, and the result shows that the improved PSO is of good effect when solving the problem of optimization of dispatching decision of wagon flows in railway hubs.
