The paper proposed an improved carrying capacity calculation method based on the division of passenger section. The effects caused by different stopping times, different combinations of trains stopping plan and the ratio of trains stopping as a train group on the high-speed railway carrying capacity were analyzed. A carrying capacity calculation formula of high-speed train and middle-speed train was obtained under a certain frequency of station service. The carrying capacity of each passenger section of Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway was calculated by the method.
