Aluminum and its alloys still remain the most sought-after material in space and aviation industry sectors; and therefore, aluminum-based composite materials are arousing active scientific and practical interest. Increasing strength when reinforcing with solid particles brings into priority machinability of the obtained promising material. This work is devoted to consideration of the behavior and capabilities of dispersion-filled aluminum matrix composite materials in regard to their deformation capacity. Ultimate strains were determined at different stressedly-deformed states, which is a necessary condition for using the material in technological processes. Deformation capacity during upsetting, rolling and as a result of intense plastic strain was investigated and demonstrated. Ultimate strain levels were established. Material behavior in comparison with an unreinforced matrix was analyzed. Possibilities of behavior and properties control were disclosed. Despite the presence of pronounced stress raisers, materials of the designated group are capable of technological deformability, which makes it possible to use them as the structural material.
