In the beginning of the 21st century, we will start sending materials to the space station. Launches of lunar and planetary probes, and HOPE-X are also planned in addition to the launches of conventional satellites. The H-IIA is now being developed for the purpose of meeting various demands for flexibility and economy. This paper is to report about the system concept, design features and the development status of the H-IIA launch vehicle and its avionics system, which put emphasis on meeting various missions efficiently.
