Laser thruster can improve the efficiency of laser orbital transfer vehicle (LOTV) in terms of energy and propellant mass. It is shown that by controlling specific energy according to the thruster operating condition, improvement of more than 60% is possible. Experimental investigation shows that those conditions necessary for the improvement is achievable by using liquid propellant.
