The article substantiates the feasibility of improving the economic and legal regulation of the digital transport ecosystem. The purpose of the article is to identify risks and problems of digital transformation of transport infrastructure, as well as to formulate directions for the development of legal regulation of the introduction of digital "smart" technologies in the transport sector in Russia. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the process of digital transformation involves the implementation of both organizational, economic and legal measures. It was established that it is necessary to develop state standards, programs within the digital transport environment for the implementation of innovations, digital platforms, organize training in digital competencies, and improve the qualifications of specialists in the field under study. The main directions of digitalization of the transport ecosystem are the development and implementation of a unified digital transport platform, the introduction of artificial intelligence in the field of transport. The conclusions are made that the practical recommendations obtained as a result of the study can be applied in the development of the Strategy for the digital transformation of the transport sector in Russia.
