Specialized coatings have many applications due to their unique mechanical properties like resistance to erosion, wear, corrosion and oxidation of the hot section component’s materials. In this regard the erosion on blade coating is one of the main concerns for the application of Gas Turbine (GT) blades working under higher temperatures. The objective is to find the best specialized coating material which achieves the best life of the hot section components of gas turbine. The specimens of different types of coatings will be prepared by HVOF thermal spray coating technique. The specimen will be tested by using erosion testing machine with respect to various parameters such as temperature, velocity of gas, nozzle angle and test duration. The surface hardness test also conducted for the same specimens. Selection of best process and coating material is done based on the results obtained comparing the values of erosion and hardness tests.
