The anti-icing performance of a small engine inlet strut was investigated. Experiments were conducted in an icing wind tunnel under different icing conditions. The experiments were performed at the freestream velocity in the range of and the freestream static temperature in the range of . The icing environment conditions include the mean volume diameter of and the liquid water content of 1.0 and . A full-scale inlet strut was used in experiments of the hot-air anti-icing performance and heat transfer. The temperature distributions on the inlet strut surface were measured by thermocouples. The characteristics of the heat and mass transfer at different freestream static temperatures and velocities, liquid water contents, and anti-icing hot-air mass flow rates were analyzed. Ice shapes on the strut leading edge were compared under different icing conditions.
