Color Analyzer and Simulation (CAS) is a computer system that analyzes body sheet metal sculptured math surfaces and assesses potential deviations and anomalies in the sculptured surface. The curvature analysis capability produces a colorgraphic plot of the surface curvatures. Where flaws in curvature are indicated there is an abrupt transition in the color spectrum. Uses cutter path data to simulate Numerical Control (NC) machining of a panel. The simulation uses pre-defined 3 or 5 axis cutterpath data and math surface to generate a 'computer machined model' of the designed panel. Verifies a comparison of the math surfaces and the simulated model of the panel. After all machine tool movements have been simulated, the 'computer machined model' is compared to the original designed math surfaces. Differences between the desired and machined surface are calculated and used to display a color graphics contour map showing the areas where either the surface has been gouged or excess material has been left.
