The First and Second World Wars accelerated the development of aeronautical and naval technology. Without claiming to be exhaustive, as the subjects are so varied, this chapter proposes some examples where numerical simulation accompanies engineering studies in shipbuilding and aeronautics and where it contributes to improving performance. Numerical simulation changes the practices of engineers in the industry and also gives them the opportunity to develop them. The transport industry in general, and the air and maritime transport industries in particular, are one of the most involved in the search for technical solutions to reduce noise pollution. The control of acoustic signatures of maritime platforms is a major challenge for manufacturers in the naval sector: for manufacturers of passenger ships, being able to justify a comfort brand is a factor that sets them apart from the competition.
