The vehicle systems of the aircraft provide the most basic services that turn the airframe into a working vehicle. Many of these systems are common to both civil and military aircraft. The systems have very different characteristics – some are high speed, closed loop, high integrity control, others are real‐time data gathering and processing with process control functions, and yet others perform simple logical processing functions. The key characteristics of each vehicle system are provided using a generic text and diagrammatic presentation.
