A full vehicle simulation technology, taking account of body flexibility characteristics as well, has been developed by creating simulation models for body characteristics with a modal approach, and combining the technology with the analysis of mechanism. This technology is capable of calculating the vehicle behavior, input loads from the suspensions and body deformations during the vehicle running. The calculation method developed anew has been applied to the areas of stability/controllability and the body strength. The results agree fairly well qualitatively with those obtained by experiments. This method may become a common effective calculation tool capable of covering different areas such as the stability/controllabilty and body strength. The authors intend to continue the studies for further clarification of the stability/controllability and strength taking account of vehicle and suspension behaviors. The authors also intend to apply this technology to the area of vibration, and to construct a proper system that facilitates the use of this technology.
