The aim of the present research was to study, using dynamic numerical analysis, the vibrational behaviour of a vehicle subjected to the variations in torque produced by the thrust and release manoeuvre. The different performances of two motor suspension architectures were evaluated. The objective was to optimise the vehicle prototype in order to reduce the noise and to improve the level of comfort. The results of a multi-body simulation model were compared to those determined in experimental measurements on the prototype, and a good agreement was found. The results obtained showed that the barycentric motor suspension system reduces the vertical and longitudinal accelerations and increases the dynamic comfort of the vehicle.
