World-wide anxiety about global warming due to the increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has been accelerating studies on countermeasures, including the capture and sequestration of CO2. The ocean sequestration of CO2 is thought to be a promising option because of the huge amount of CO2 to be treated, provided that the influence on the oceanic environment is acceptable. In this paper, the technical feasibility of the implementation of CO2 injection into the ocean dephts is studied. The conceptual outlines obtained here will be useful in the planning stage of coming research programs to model the behavior of CO2 after injection.
