A new composite splint-slab material 'DSP-S' on the basis of organophosphate binders was developed to produce the ship's furniture. The material developed, at the expense of utilization of essentially new binders, combining the properties of the fireproofing compound and antiseptic, has a complex of new properties, including a higher refractoriness and lower concentration of volatile toxic substances. A light three-layer composite material with the outer layers of the paper-laminated plastics 'Manminit' and with the middle layer of a polyisocyanurate foam was developed for application to the ship's furniture, The material is distinguished by having a lower combustibility, environmental cleanness, has the sanitary certificate, the permit of the Register of Shiping for application to the vessels of all classes and purposes. Instead of the mats of horse's hair and wool, utilized in the bedding of the ship's staff, the mats with unwoven 'OHM-TC' filler were developed. the composition of OHM-TC is as follows: oxywax 8, catamin AB, polyether fiber (0.84 tex) and polypropylene fiber (0.67 tex). Cotton ticking with a special flameproof impregnation is applied to the mats' covers. In addition, the artificial leather of Vinylishokza-TP brand was developed as an upholstering material for upholstered furniture which is a cotton tricot fabric with the fireproofing impregnation and the one-sided updated polyvinylchloride coating. The material is incombustible and in terms of resistance to inflammation and flame propagation it complies with the ISO 1716 standard.
