A very efficient way of analysing the immense amount of data that originates from computer simulations in the automotive industry is through video presentation of the visualized simulation results. Unfortunately, most postprocessors available today in the area of car crash simulation do not support the assembly of images into video. We have developed a software tool that allows for the annotation of images with text and graphics in connection with the PAM-VIEW postprocessing system, which also supports the manipulation of the image color, image display quality and the archiving of image sequences as video clips. This is achieved using digital image capture, image compression and image manipulation facilities. The design and implementation of this software environment is described.
