A system was developed to intensively monitor ride quality levels in real-time as a way to quickly grasp the ride quality of fully organized railway vehicles with a goal of practally using the results to check vibration behavior of railway vehicles and subsequent detailed analysis as well as for their maintenance. The system consists of LOCAL stations that process signals from sensors, a HOST station that collectively displays and records the processed data from the LOCAL stations and serial communication lines connecting the stations. Using this configuration it is possible to do real-time monitoring of ride quality of organized railway vehicles. There is value in the real-time understanding of the ride quality of each railway vehicle and we confirmed the effectiveness of this system as analysis equipment for railway vehicle vibrations as well as the fact that it can contribute to the safe operation of railway vehicles because we could add a truck hunting detection function to the system.
