Contrary to the traditional tire structure analysis which regards the tire as a shell, this paper takes a radial tire as a complex structure consisting of eleven kinds of materials with 3D finite element method considering both geometrically and physically nonlinear behavior. To verify the computational results, the incandescent light spectra technique was employed to measure to surface displacement field of a tire. Comparison of theoretical and experimental results shows good agreement.
