A car body structure has a large number of main missions, like structural stiffness, safety, handling, vibrational and acoustic comfort, aerodynamically behaviour, which require design targets and more and more analysis supports, carried out in accord with each phase of the product development, from the design concept to the manufacturing. Marketing and quality design goals require that C.A.E. methods have to be closely connected with different mathematical instruments, design data, 'time for the response' and typology of analyses, outputs and needs available at each phase of the design. In order to get the optimal design, it's necessary both a reliable evaluation method based on experimental-numerical approach and a correct knowledge of validation targets for each car subsystems closely related to the global body missions. Fully integrated CAE procedure guarantees time to market, covering all the analysis phases in terms of CAD base manipulation, FEM mesh generation and quality check, test data exchange, a posteriori analysis check and dedicated postprocessing procedures. All the mentioned procedure are well integrated with MSC solvers used in CRF for the analysis phase and also for the data exchange in which MSC 'input' is used as a standard format for all the integrated CAE tools.
