Laser beam delivery equipment for both carbon dioxide (CO2) and yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) lasers, consisting of modular components and configured for aerospace and automotive applications, will be reviewed in general terms. Two laser beam delivery systems which reflect difficult production requirements - high-volume exhaust pipe cutting and dual fiber-optic beam delivery welding - will be discussed in detail.
