The Chrysler Product Design office would like to accelerate its design cycle through the use of solids modeling and realistic imaging. Automation Technology Products markets a solid modeler and is investigating the addition of realistic imagery to it. Early results with wheels indicate that solids modeling can greatly reduce design time, and that images of even moderate realism can be used for aesthetic judgments.
