An overview about the different types of aircraft engine oils deposits is given. Furthermore, the simulation of static deposits is explained, and a new test device is shown in detail. Then the test methods and reproducibility of the results are discussed. Results will be shown about influence of surface temperature, test duration, oil amount and air. In addition, the influence of different ester-oil structures and the results with elemental and infrared spectroscopic analysis of different deposits will be discussed.
