This paper presents a method for calculating pressure and thrust versus time in a solid propellant rocket motor. This method takes into account possible scattering of propellant burning rate which for instance may have a significant effect on the thrust imbalance for a rocket boosters pair. One of the preliminary designs of boosters pair for the future satellites launcher Ariane V consists in segmented solid rocket motors. The method and subsequent statistical analysis are used for analysing and selecting the best procedure for casting propellant batches during the manufacture of the grains.
