Error accumulation in dynamic systems caused by internal parameter perturbations is investigated. The obtained estimates of the accumulated perturbations are used to determine the frequency with which sources of "external" information about the system motion are drawn upon to reduce its sensitivity to parameter variations. The capabilities of the examined approach are illustrated by the example of estimating the periodicity at which a gimballess inertial navigation system is corrected.
