The US Army's Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) at Fort Monmouth, NJ, has initiated several tasks to reduce the proliferation of TMDE (test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment) and conquer the TMDE management problems associated with the large and diverse inventory. The author focuses on one such task, which has automated the equipment compatibility analysis phase of the modernization process. The system's capabilities and database techniques used to fulfil user requirements and the built-in integrity features of the system are discussed.
