This report discusses the performance of a photovoltaic (PV)-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station for the first year of operation. The system consists of 30 Siemens 53-Watt panels mounted on a seasonally-adjusted rack on the roof of a carport. DC output is converted to 120 VAC by a 2 kW utility-interactive inverter. All output is put into the grid, and EV power is drawn from that grid ('buy all, sell all'). Average AC productivity was 4.10 kW/day, with a peak of 1.53 kW in April. Simulated contribution to EV recharging ranged from 40 % to 47 % for a recharging load of 7.0 kW/day, five days a week. Total down-time was 33 days, or 9.0 % of the year. Overall solar-to-AC efficiency was 7.09 %. The system operated as designed except for a randomly-occurring delayed start-up of the inverter that wasted about 11 % of solar resource.
