A high voltage (200 kV into 200 ohms), short pulse width (100 nanosecond) pulse transformer was developed for the SLAC polarized gun project. The pulse transformer uses a configuration which allows for a compact design, small core size, good high voltage design, and a very fast rise time. The input to the transformer is 12.5 ohms 50 kV pulse with 20 nsec rise time from a thyratron switched water Blumlein. The output of the four to one step up ratio is 200 kV into 200 ohms. The paper will describe the design configuration, advantages of the design and test results.
