Calibration capability of the Sapce Vision System and a set of self-consistent on-orbit calibration procedures have been presented that will allow an operator to control the Canadarm with more precision than is at present possible. These procedures will be verified on a shuttle mission that is scheduled to fly in September of 1992. There is an Advanced Space Vision System (ASVS) currently under development by the Canadian Space Agency. It is interesting to note that one of the enhancements of the ASVS is that it will have run-time calibration both in the camera/lens calibration and the reference calibration procedures.
