Application of technology that uses electric drive opens up new possibilities in traffic. Previous models of modal split traffic usually included four types of movements (by car, by public transport, by bicycle and by foot). Personal car was then perceived as the least eco-friendly. The creation of new means of transport changed this situation. The article focuses on the problems associated with the development of transport systems in the direction of support electric cars. At the local level and national level in different parts of the world are accepted various types of incentives that will bring about changes of travel behaviour and increase participation of electric cars in the traffic. The article presents possible model the relationship between different types of incentives and determines barriers that must be overcome in order to improve the image of this means of transport. Example of using the proposed method was also briefly described.
