The diversity of transmission concepts (AT, DCT, CVT) has led to a great variety of functions and a wide range of mechatronics and actuation concepts. This presentation will discuss market trends and the influence on the transmission actuator system in terms of accuracy, leakage, contamination robustness, and dynamic. The various requirements are described in standardized form based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The presentation provides an overview of electro hydraulic actuation concepts (pilot-, direct control, PowerPack,...) and the performance trade-offs in respect to different transmission types. Specific actuation concepts that fulfill the system requirements are presented.
