The technology of bending front beams of railway trolleys was developed and implemented in an innovative production line for two-plane bending of channel bars (front beams) being elements of railway wagon trolleys. Special attention was drawn to the methods of numerical calculations applied to support the process of designing tool geometry and to the comparison of computer simulation results to the results of technological tests. The simulations performed in DeForm 3D program and the technological tests proved the influence of such factors as the charge temperature (about 850 °C), forming speed, pressing force and time as the elements determining the product geometry in accordance with the adopted assumptions. The line control system allows for monitoring the working parameters in the production process. The beam bending line is controlled by one operator and the control is effected from the central console according to the preset production cycle. The bending line control system enables the working parameters to be monitored in the production process. Its precision and complexity allows also for realization of investigation works in the field of bending technology.
