This article describes the determination of the stress state of cylindrical couplings, couplings with unloading rings used for restoring the load-carrying capacity of sections of transmission pipelines with metal losses of different origin, and also of sheltering branch pipes, branch pipes with a ring-shape strap and a split T-branch, used as repair jackets preventing unsealing of fittings. The design of steel couplings and T-joints for selecting repair of transmission pipelines should take into account the need to maintain the load-carrying capacity in unsealing of defects inside the structure being repaired. Service experience and calculation estimates show that the most efficient means of achieving this is the increase in the wall thickness of the working elements. In the case of steel crimping couplings, the wall thickness at the end of the coupling should be 1.5-2.0 times greater than the wall thickness of the main pipe. For T-joints with a diameter of up to 0.3 of the diameter of the main pipe without the collar, the thickness of the branch should not be smaller than the wall thickness of the main pipe. In the case of the T-joints with a diameter of up to 0.3 of the diameter of the main pipe with a collar having the thickness equal to the wall thickness of the main pipe, the thickness of the branch should not be lower than 50% of the wall thickness of the main pipe. The thickness of the walls of the split T-branches with the collar should not be lower than 1.5- 2.0 of the wall thickness of the main pipe and its selection should be accompanied by justification of the service margin.
