We have developed a manufacturable glass fabric composite material with excellent material properties, and have characterized it in tension, compression, and flex. We have also tested it in tensile fatigue, and found that it is extremely durable, up to a million cycles at 31% UTS. Thermal properties show that it is in line with expectations for structural automotive composites. Destructive and non-destructive evaluation show that it is quite durable for prestress conditions. We are continuing to refine our characterizations of this material, including different layups and increased thermal characterization. In addition, we will continue to develop NDE techniques, working to develop a testing methodology for evaluation of structural health of a vehicle which depends on structural composites.
