The aerospace structural parts are made often of titanium and its alloys. Twenty titanium construction materials used for manufacturing aircraft, helicopter and aircraft engine structural components, undercarriage and landing gear were taken into consideration. Free and die forging, heat treatment (homogenizing and recrystallization annealing, precipitation hardening) and machining are commonly used in the aircraft engineering. The effects of material processing methods on the microstructure, surface roughness and mechanical properties of titanium alloys were analyzed. Methods for testing the aerospace structural components were also presented.
