COMPASS-1 is the first Picosatellite built at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Its purpose is to conduct an earth observation mission with an onboard camera and further to test novel miniaturized attitude determination and control technologies. The latter includes the validation of a three-axis ADCS based on magnetic coil actuation as well the verification of the Phoenix GPS developed by the German Aerospace Center (DLR e.V.), by means of continuous recording of GPS measurements over a full orbit.
