A prototype motorcycle lighting system that may enhance the conspicuity in view of the sense of distance and speed is proposed. By the simulator experiment and the real vehicle experiment, this lighting system was evaluated and the following results were obtained: There would be the possibility that this lighting system enhances the sense of distance for a motorcycle up to the equivalent to a car. There would be the possibility that this lighting system enhances the sense of speed for a motorcycle more than a car. There would be the possibility that this lighting system increases CTG in right-turn across path scenarios of a motorcycle (in the left-hand traffic) more than a car. There would be the possibility that this lighting system does not only equalize CTG of vehicles of various sizes in right-turn path scenarios (in the left-hand traffic) but increases it. There would be the possibility that this lighting system does not only equalizes awarness of vehicles of various sizes but also enhances it. Since these are the results in the limited experimental condition, the additional investigations in various situations of actual traffic environment are required.
