As a general problem during construction and dimensioning large drive trains, the possible conjunction of drive train and structure natural frequencies is emphasized. This can be seen in the field of wind turbines, here, a complex, elastic and vibratory complete object results under turbulent stochastic input conditions (wind speed). These tendencies can be found in other applications, too. Therefore it is necessary to get exact knowledge of the dynamic behaviour of the entire drive system and its surrounding already in the construction phase. Therefore appropriate methods of modelling must be used for the illustration of the vibratory systems. To reach a complete and significant characterization of the dynamic system reduced FE-models according the Guyan-reduction method are integrated in the MBS-environment and analyzed as elastic MBS models. Besides the application in wind turbines the calculation of a ship drive is presented.
