The Personal Electronic Devices (PED) carried back inside the aircrafts by the passengers represent a potential threat for the avionics systems. Within the European project Em-haz, the coupling mechanisms between Nav/com antennas and PEDs located inside different cavities have been assessed (a generic mock-up, the numerical model of an aircraft). The comparison between numerical computations provided by ASERIS (Boundary Element code in the frequency domain) with measurements has been performed to validate a methodology based on a probabilistic approach on a generic fuselage. These analysis have been extrapolated on the numerical model of an A319. From these analysis, different protection strategies have been tested which decrease significantly the coupling paths from interior to exterior.
