A new method developed by SAAB for surface coating offers many advantages in terms of both improved environmental friendliness and improved surface coating. Furthermore, use of organic solvents can be reduced by 60%. In addition, the use of chromates can be reduced because anodizing with phosphoric acid can replace chromic acid. The binding primer contains roughly 5% chromates, as compared to 20% found in the conventional primer.
