The paper summarises the results of tests carried out by an improved experimental ring model device employing bulk high temperature superconducting (HT(sub c)S) ring and circular primary fed by tree-phase voltage. Specific aspect of interaction forces between translating field and a high temperature superconducting secondary are discussed. In a wide range of work conditions (slip from zero to one) electro-magnetic experiments were conducted until a speed of 500 rpm was attained; line current, input power, lift and propulsion forces were measured. Moreover numerical analyses have been carried out by 3D finite element parametric model. It was confirmed that the calculated results correspond well with the actual test result.
