The local scheduling problems as part of a global first-in first-out (FIFO) process management policy was discussed. The method was implemented within the context of an automotive assembly plant. It was suggested that to optimize production costs it is necessary for automobile manufacturing process to create a list that schedules orders. A theoretical prespective that characterize the maximum authorized local scheduling disturbance that enables to fulfil the global management objective was also presented.
