In this work we represent our experience in building railroad scales for weighing carriages in motion. It is one or several, weighing platforms, built-into railway lines, a set of load cells, an analog-digital converter (junction box) and an information processing system (PC based software). Depending on a platform length, there are one-axle weighing, two-axles (one bogie) weighing and a full carriage length scales. We talk about a filtration, algorithm building task in the paper. We considered a whole oscillation system: ground, concrete basement, weighing platforms on load cell bearings, leading railways and a moving train composed of carriages with its spring supported chassis and coupling gaps. Having analyzed a source load cell signal recorded we built several frequency filters for the following axle weight calculation. A separate task is to identify the carriages in their composition. The longer a weighing platform is, the more axles can move over it at the same time and the harder it is to find out which axle belongs to which carriage. In fact, carriage and locomotive fleet of the railways of The Russian Federation (track width 1520mm) consists of more than 300 carriages and more than 30 locomotives. All of them have different axle arrangements (there are 4-, 6- and 8-axle carriages and locomotives available), different lengths and different carriage- and bogie-bases. Our weighing algorithm includes a joint work of a filtration block and an identification algorithm. We get 0,25% accuracy for one-axle TENSO-M RD-D type scales. A task of weighing tanks with liquids in motion is also considered. We need to have all the tank's axles driving over the platform at the time of weighing. We built a special software pack that gets a tank models list needed to be weighed by a customer and gives the optimized configuration of the scales (a quantity of platforms and their lengths).
