Integral wing-skin panel with grid-type ribs is a kind of light-weight structure widely applied in the aerospace field. The characteristic of this structure is that the skin and the grid-type ribs is a whole, while the shape of the skin is single curvature or complex double curvature. It is very difficult to form the machined panel into required shape. In this paper, the incremental bend forming technology was applied to form the panel, the deformation rules of typical ribs were obtained by using the experimental investigation. Instability of ribs is occurring in the bending process of a single curvature panel with grid-type ribs. The main defects are the buckling at the compressive zone on the ribs and the fracture at the joint zone between the ribs. The internal causes of the buckling were analyzed and the reasonable protective measures were put forward. Finally, a single curvature panel with grid-type ribs was formed successfully when the side displacements of ribs are restricted to avoid instability.
