Recent performance of braking devices has been improved for catching up with new vehicle features such as HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle), VDM(Vehicle Dynamics Management) and so on. This is the reason why new concept systems like EHB (Electric Hydraulic Brake), are introduced. In near future, more enhancement of braking performance (ex. response, accuracy etc.) will be required. In this paper the feasibility of very high-speed braking torque control will be studied. Highspeed electrical brake actuators will be designed and tested on an actual vehicle. In this test the high-speed torque control is found out that could make stable slip-state at any slip-rate and had good response for changes of road surface conditions. Finally its effects on vehicle dynamics and future potential are discussed.
