In recent years, the car has to meet strict requirements of Environment and Safety, and this has been leading to an increasing of complexity of automotive embedded systems, especially software. On the other hand, it is still very important to develop new products timely to meet customer's expectations. Under these circumstances, standardization and reuse of software components is essential to ensure software quality. In this paper, the activities will be explained to achieve software quality with reducing the development time and costs at the same time. The activities are divided into two classes, one is the software components management system with which we car manufacturer and ECU(electronic control unit) suppliers can own software in common, and the other is the development system for breaking through and manufacturing new technology, such as hybrid system. It will be suggested that mingling these two systems will be the key point for developing automotive embedded systems in the near future.
